Best New Handguns from SHOT Show 2020; NEMO Monark MK-9, Walther Q4 Steel Frame & More

There was much to be seen at SHOT Show 2020. Today, we at Shooting Range Industries would like to highlight the best new pistols showcased during this event.

Laugo Alien Pistol

With uncanny resemblance to an alien and staying true to its name, the Laugo Alien offers a glimpse into the future and includes countless desirable features the rest of the handgun industry hasn’t even touched. The red dot sight doesn’t move, allowing easier tracking and unmatched durability as the barrel is fixed, the operation is through a gas piston, and the slide only reciprocates on the sides. Boasting the lowest center of gravity and lowest bore axis of any semiautomatic on the market, it has virtually no muzzle flip with an exceptional level of precision.

SCCY DVG-1RD

The SCCY (pronounced Sky) just might be the smallest as it joins a growing number of manufacturers that offer miniature red dot sights on pistols for 2020. The compact nine is equipped with a tiny Crimson Trace CTS-1500 red-dot sight milled deep into the slide.

NEMO Monark MK-9

The list of manufacturers now offering pistols is rapidly increasing. Namely the semiauto .300 Win. Mag, new the pistol market is NEMO, and is famous for its precision rifles. Counted as what a modern defensive pistol should be, this pistol line hit the ground running and it optimizes the preferred features.

Walther Q4 Steel Frame

More concealable brother to the competition Q5 Match SF, that last year was labeled as a glimpse into the future of handguns, the new Q4 SF (Steel Frame) is smaller. With most electro optics, the Q4 SF now boasts tall suppressor-height iron sights that co-witness. In addition to the steel frame, and having a reduced size and somewhat recontoured, the large extended beavertail found on the Q5 is removed. This pistol is predicted to be a top a trend.

Glock 44 .22LR

The Model 44, regardless of the naming convention, and the factory .22LR pistol from Glock. The only challenge presented is how light this pistol is.

SIG Romeo1 PRO

The legacy Romeo1 miniature reflex sight is replaced and the PRO model received functional updates. Aligning with the US Army’s new service pistol, the M17/M18. All SIG Sauer service-style pistols will be compatible with this updated footprint.

Mossberg MC2c

The manufacturer naturally introduces a compact version after the successful launch of the MC2sc pistol last year. After a nearly 100-year hiatus, Mossberg’s entry back into the handgun market is impressive. For concealed carry, the MC2c is a mid-size compact model. Putting it mostly in-line with its competition, the magazine capacity is 13-rounds for the flush-fit mag and 15-rounds for the extended. With a surprising number of parts interchangeable with the other, the MC2 and MC2c are very Glock-like.

SHOT Show Attendees

Also showcasing the Taurus Defender 856; Colt Python; S&W Shield EZ M2.0 9mm, and other pistols, SHOT Show 2020 was truly an exciting event that offered many incredible options for any gun enthusiast. Shooting Range Industries was honored to once again welcome SHOT Show to our hometown of Las Vegas, NV and enjoyed meeting so many good people during this event.
