Offering a little more power, the Glock 22 became a favorite among officers. This firearm is capable of shooting both 9mm and .40 caliber ammunition.

Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm

For over a century, Smith & Wesson, an American gun company, has been manufacturing guns. The personalizing capabilities increase its popularity. Officers can install all types of custom accessories because the M&P 9 has a Picatinny rail under the muzzle. Also, it accommodates left-handed officers as easily as right-handed officers. The loaded chamber indicator and other small safety feature upgrades are also beneficial.

With high-quality firearms, they have expanded to a multi-national corporation that supplies militaries and police forces all around the world. In 1975, the Beretta Model 92 hit the market, and with the open-side design that Beretta is noted for, this lightweight aluminum alloy offers more durability than other guns on the market. Some officers are turned off by the bulkiness, however, by 1981, Beretta developed the 92SB version, which is smaller, shorter, and lighter.

Sig Sauer P226
